Committee 2012-13
Sarah Clarke - Coordinator
Hi I'm Sarah and I'm a final year PPE student. I got involved with Warwick Hub last year and from the very beginning I have really identified with Student Hubs vision of student-led social action. I believe that all students have the power to effect real change in their local and national community, and that your time at University is the perfect opportunity to take on that task. Warwick Hub aims to engage all students in ethical and charitable activity, so get in contact with one of our committee members and get involved, and feel free to contact me with any general questions about what we do.

Pete McNally - Vice President
Hi! I'm Pete, a 3rd year History and Culture student and Vice-President of Warwick Hub. As well as supporting Sarah, I work across Warwick Hub to organise on-campus events and campaigns, and support and promote those of our member groups. I'm passionate about making charity and community work an integral part of Warwick students' university experiences. One of my primary goals as a member of Warwick Hub is to make this kind of activity as broad and inclusive as possible. By engaging and involving as many people as possible, we can work towards securing real social change now and in the future!
Outside of Hub, I'm also President of Warwick Oxfam. In my spare time, I enjoy all sorts of sports and both listening to and playing music.

Joe Brandim-Howson - Projects Coordinator
Hi, I’m Joe and I’m ‘Projects Coordinator’. This means that if you’re a society, group of students, or individual who’d like to develop a project, event, fundraiser etc which supports ethical, social or charitable ends – get in contact with me and I’ll hopefully help you pull it off.
I’m a Politics & International Studies 2nd year who enjoys student life, and getting out there to see the real world. I joined Hub so I could ‘do my bit’, and because I do believe it is us young, passionate and envisioned people who will be the ones to make the change.

Ben Clifford- Member Groups Coordinator
Hello! I’m Ben! I’m in my third year studying Philosophy. I’m the Member Groups Coordinator for Warwick Hub, which means I’m here to support any member group (charitable/ethical society) on campus! If you want to get involved in something but not sure what, you’re in a society and need advice or want to get in touch with another society, just get in touch! I’m very happy to respond to emails, meet in person and for people to add me on Facebook.
I’m also the Vice-President of Warwick Oxfam-Outreach and the Treasurer of Giving What We Can: Warwick. Both are doing some fantastic stuff and I have really good fun being involved with them – feel free, as with all member groups, to come along to a meeting and say hello! My favourite things about Warwick outside charity stuff are the café on first floor of the library, Beats and Bars music nights and £5 tickets at the Arts Centre. If you ever see me about on campus feel free to introduce yourself or stop me for a chat!

Hannah Wheatley - Environment and Sustainability Coordinator
Hello I'm Hannah, currently a second year undergraduate studying Politics and International Studies. I've been a member of People & Planet since week one, and have slowly become involved in other societies and projects including the Leamington Community Kitchen, Amnesty and Actorvists. I joined the Hub because I thought it was a great way to bring together all the areas of ethical and charitable activity at Warwick and because I wanted to work with people with similar interests.
My key areas of focus are smashing capitalism, environmental degradation, and the unequal distribution of resources. My role on the Hub committee, however, is the Environment and Sustainablity Co-ordinator, which more generally covers all things green so please contact me with questions or suggestions.

Nat Panda- Training

Hi, I'm Nat and I am in my second year of a PhD in Statistics. I am involved with People & Planet, Animal Ethics and the Students' Union. I got involved with Warwick Hub as I have seen first-hand the positive effects it has had on ethical and charitable communities at Warwick, and want to help this continue.
I am responsible for organising training opportunities for member groups and other students. If you would like any particular training to help you to develop your skills so you can better achieve your ethical and charitable aims, then get in touch. Otherwise look out for training opportunities throughout the year.

Felix Thompson - Events Coordinator
Hi I'm Felix and I'm a second year Politics and French student. My role as events co-ordinator means that I oversee "The Series" in Term 2 as well as this years host of exciting topical debates, speakers and conferences.
Additionally I'm here to help our projects co-ordinator with the logistics of any your suggestions or thoughts for possible events, so don't hesitate to get in touch with any queries.

Ben Frew - Communications and Publicity

Hi, I'm Ben, a final year PPE student and Head of Communications and Publicity for Warwick Hub. My responsibilities involve maintaining our social media and online presence, working with Jack to maximise publicity for all of our events and sending out our newsletter 'The Week'. In addition to this, I'm our point of contact for any sponsorship arrangements. So please get in touch if you have any opportunities or events relevant for The Week, or are interested in sponsoring the work we do.
My primary motivation behind working with Warwick Hub is to increase student engagement and involvement with ethical issues and charitable activity. University campuses are perfect locations to challenge our pre-conceived ideas, discover new causes and work together to address them - all of which, Hub aims to facilitate. Outside of Warwick Hub, I tend to spend my time debating issues of social justice with friends, listening to music or enjoying a pint.

Jack Johnson - Communications and Publicity

Hi, my name is Jack Johnson, and I'm a second year sociology student at Warwick. I joined the Hub for a number of reasons, mainly because I have a passion for charity work, and have future ambitions to work in the third sector, with a focus on international development.
I love to play guitar and drums, and play in several bands around university. I also love to travel, and have a slight addiction to cheese!
My role as Communications and Publicity officer entails the design, printing and targeting of promotional material for the Hub, and generating student and business interest in getting involved with the great work that takes place.

Emily Scurrah- International Development Coordinator
Hello! I'm Emily, a third year studying English Lit. I'm Human Rights and International Development Co-ordinator, providing support and information for events, groups and general activity relating to human rights and development across campus throughout the year. I want to ensure that students are constantly kept aware of major issues affecting us across the globe today, and are made to feel empowered to make a change in order to counter the pervasive sense of helplessness and apathy that affects us daily.
Outside of Hub I am an active member of Warwick Amnesty and have been involved in the Students Union, and also have a keen interest in politics, music, travel and women's issues.

Katri Hastings - Social Enterprise Coordinator

Hi I’m Kat: Warwick Hub’s social enterprise coordinator, a second year engineering student, netballer and hyperactive maniac.
A social enterprise is an organisation that applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in human and environmental well-being, rather than maximising profits for external shareholders. Yes that came straight from Wikipedia but words aren’t my strong point.
This year I really want to encourage people to explore the world of social enterprise, and hope to bring the necessary tools to the University to allow people to discover and set up their own social enterprises. I am truly passionate about the importance of social enterprise and the impact it can have.
So if you have any great ideas that you think people should get involved in or you want to set up your own social enterprise let me know and I’ll see what I can do for you.
