About

Student Hubs works across the UK to transform student involvement in social action. We act as a catalyst, empowering students to become active members of their community by promoting social action, social entrepreneurship and citizenship.
We have a growing network of ‘Hubs’ in universities that increase student involvement in social action and ensure these efforts are effective and sustainable. We currently work in the universities of Bristol, Cambridge, Oxford, Oxford Brookes, Imperial, Southampton and Warwick – with a membership of over 20,000 students, 100 student groups and 20 national NGOs.
At a national level, we also run the UK’s leading student conferences on international development, social entrepreneurship, climate change and community volunteering. We welcome over 7,000 students through the doors of these conferences and our other speaker events each year. We also deliver the UK's largest student internship programme focused within the third sector and placing 100 students in not-for-profit organisations each summer.
In September 2011 we moved our main office to the centre of Oxford, into the first building in the UK to be dedicated to student volunteering and social action. Click here for more information about the space, and visit Turl Street Kitchen to find out about our sister social enterprise cafe-bar-restaurant which supports Student Hubs. Student Hubs is a registered charity in England and Wales, number 1122328. Our page on the Charity Commission's website is here.
Awards
We don't focus too much on awards at Student Hubs, but we do like it when we win them - here's a couple of examples of some recent recognition:
