Cambridge Oxfam Group is a group of volunteers who support Oxfam by campaigning and fundraising. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds who wish to help.
People and Planet is a national network of students working together to make their universities greener and more ethical, target corporations who put profit before people and the planet, and educate ourselves on social and environmental issues so that we can campaign as effectively as possible.
Camvol was established in November 2006, and is a UK registered charity. Camvol organises volunteer placements with environment and development related organisations in India. Students usually volunteer during the University summer vacation, between July and September each year, for a period of six to eight weeks.
This interdisciplinary research group explores the issues surrounding climate change from an aesthetic and cultural standpoint, giving voice and platform to the growing number of artists, writers, photographers, journalists, film directors, architects and thinkers responding to this global phenomenon. It examines the potential for, and the challenges raised by, artistic and cultural responses to climate change, complementing existing approaches and analytical templates.
CUSU Ethical Affairs is the part of Cambridge University Students' Union that focuses on the environment, social justice & development. It aims to promote awareness of these crucial issues to the student population and empower them to act upon them in a number of ways [ethical-chair(at)cusu.cam.ac.uk] We campaign on three main areas, each with their own dedicated part-time student officer: the environment & climate change, ethical investment, and fair trade & ethical purchasing. We also support a number of smaller campaigns and projects.
